Independent Stylist Review

  • Weekly $375 for full time. Full time is considered 4+days behind the chair

    Weekly $100 for part time of 1 day

    Weekly $190 for part time of 2 days

    Weekly $275 for part time of 3 days

    Rent will be due on Friday for the week you just completed (the week behind you). We have autopay options for payment or you can pay manually weekly.

    First 10 to sign on full time receive 4 weeks free, everyone else will receive 2 weeks free, not including part time stylists.

    If you leave to work elsewhere before your 1 year anniversary you will be held responsible to pay back your free weeks.

  • We offer 10 weeks of maternity leave to our stylists.

  • You will use Square Appointments for booking online appointments, this is covered by the salon. You will have your photo on the website as well as your own personal booking link you can attach to all marketing sites you use. Your first headshot photo is covered by the salon, any re-do or new updated shot will come with a charge.

  • You will receive 50 business cards upon your start date, any reorder will be charged.

  • You will earn 10% on all retail when your $500/month goal is met to be paid out via direct deposit once a month.

    We carry Kerastase and R+Co Bleu

  • Shampoos and conditioners will always be available to use on your guests from the retail lines that we sell in the salon. Each line will be giving us an abundant amount of back bar styling products upon opening so there will be plenty to use. Once we are out of our opening order of styling products, stylists can purchase at 50% of cost. You can also earn 1 styling product of choice per month by selling $500 in retail for the month.

  • Towels, capes, coffee and filtered water will be provided.

  • You can design your schedule in any way you see fit. You will have a key to enter and exit the building and can come and go as you please. Our business hours are 9-7 but if you need to come in early or stay late, that is fully up to you.

  • Velvaere Mae has an ample parking lot for staff and clients to use. We would like to reserve the front 2 rows of parking outside of our entry doors for clients. Staff will be expected to park further back.

  • A damage deposit of $400 will need to be paid in full to reserve your chair at Velvaere Mae. This deposit will cover all damages to our facility during the time you are working in our space. This deposit is non refundable. If you choose to sign our contract but do not pay the damage deposit in full, your chair is not securely saved for you.

  • You will be responsible for all communication with your clients regarding their appointments. We do have a phone number clients can contact in the event they cannot get a hold of the stylist. The salon will forward those messages directly to you in order to handle communication.

Mentorship

1 on 1 mentorship is available for free for 1 full year. The one year starts after your first mentorship meeting. Things covered in mentorship are pricing evaluations and formulas on how to simplify your pricing and make necessary increases as your business grows. Numbers break down. Square collects data on your client retention, pre booking, number of appointments and schedule utilization.

We break down these numbers to create a growth plan. Social media coaching, photography coaching and marketing coaching are also a fundamental part of growing your business as well as creating your brand. These are all things we value and feel necessary to pass on to our team. Mentorship meetings will be with Tiffany or Mollie.

Policies

You cannot come to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This includes going to lunch and coming back to work, you will be asked to leave for the remainder of the day if you choose to drink alcohol or partake in drug use during your work day. 

If you want to end your time working at Velvaere Mae please let us know via text or email. We value our team's happiness and love an upfront notice but also understand things can move quickly, we do not require any length of time to be notified. If you feel you'd be happier elsewhere, we will always fully support that no matter the time frame. The same is true on our end, if we feel you are no longer a fit for us, we are not required to give any notice and can let you know the same day that your time with us has ended. 


Do not take or borrow any items that are not yours.


We do not allow our staff to bring in their own wax pots or waxing items. 

If you are part time and obligated to specific days working, you cannot come in on your off time unless you have permission to do so.

Sunday's are reserved for our cleaning team to refresh the salon, you cannot come into our facility on Sunday.

If you are behind or late on your rent payment you are subject to a late fee of $25 unless we have been notified prior to the payment due date

All renters are required to hold their own renters insurance policy
